Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh believes France is the top contender to win this year’s Euros, citing midfielder N’Golo Kante’s return to the national team.
Kante, who hadn’t played for France in two years, was recalled by manager Didier Deschamps for Euro 2024. The 33-year-old played a key role in France’s 1-0 victory over Austria, showcasing the form that made him crucial to France’s 2018 World Cup-winning team.
Currently with Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League after leaving Chelsea, Oliseh expressed his excitement about Kante’s return, writing on X on Tuesday: “The ‘Gigantic Alien of Football’ is back!! What a pleasure to watch one of my favourite defensive midfielders of all times, N’Golo Kante back to International football for France yesterday. I now feel France is a real favorite to win the Euros!!”
