Nigerian singer Tems has revealed her plans to start a women’s football team.
The Grammy award winner shared her love for sports on her YouTube podcast, saying, “I love sports, but if I could play football, I would. I’m a big football fan.
“I want to start a female football team because I think it’s something that’s needed. Why can’t we have local tournaments for the girls? I feel like it would be fun.”

Tems also mentioned that the team would compete in regional competitions, which she believes would greatly benefit the Nigerian women’s league.
Tems gained widespread fame in 2020 with the hit song ‘Essence,’ a collaboration with Wizkid. She later released a remix featuring Justin Bieber, which earned her a Grammy nomination.
