Afrobeats star Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has proudly spoken about achieving stardom at a young age.

Since gaining prominence with her debut EP and first full-length project, “19 & Dangerous,” in 2021, Ayra Starr said her music has been constantly evolving. She emphasized that she has grown up in the spotlight.

Speaking on Visa’s ‘Music Talks,’ Ayra Starr shared, “My first single blew up in Africa, and I was overwhelmed. I got to grow up in front of everyone. We need to allow artists to grow and find themselves. I don’t even know if this is my final form yet, but I don’t think there’s any such thing as a final form. There are eras and times, and you just become better. This is the vibe now with Ayra Starr; it might not be the same next year. It might be better, it might be bigger.”

Regarding her global acceptance, she said, “Different people from different parts of the world love my music. My voice is kind of my sound. I bring Afrobeats to every genre I enter.”

She also revealed that during her first meeting with Don Jazzy, she recorded five songs, three of which ended up on her first EP. “I recorded five songs the first day I met Don Jazzy. Three of those ended up in my first EP,” she said.
