The 2024–25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season is set to commence on Saturday, August 31, according to a report. NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye confirmed the start date through the league’s official Facebook page.
The 2023–24 season concluded recently with Rangers clinching the title. The Flying Antelopes secured their eighth NPFL championship, earning a giant trophy and N150 million in prize money. Remo Stars and Enyimba finished second and third, respectively.
Following the season’s end, Sporting Lagos, Doma United, Heartland, and Gombe United were relegated to the Nigeria National League.
