Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Dominic has responded to criticism from an X user who belittled her for taking a movie role they deemed beneath her status. The user mocked her involvement in the “Lekki Wives” reality show, suggesting that she should have outgrown such projects. Their post read, “There are certain projects your brand should outgrow. Why is Rita Dominic in ‘Lekki Wives’ or whatever it’s called? Come on.”
Rita Dominic replied by saying that only those without artistic integrity make such remarks and urged her fellow actors not to heed such opinions. She stressed the importance of maintaining artistic integrity and reminded them that their creative expression should not be limited by empty comments.
She wrote, “Dear Actors, only people who lack artistic integrity speak like this. If you listen to them, you’ll soon believe you are more important than the industry that birthed you. You are an ACTOR, so always find a way or platform to release your creative energy. Continue to hone your skills regardless of empty comments like this, because knowledge is never-ending.
