Manchester United have made a new bid to Everton to sign defender Jarred Branthwaite this summer.

Manager Erik ten Hag is a strong admirer of Branthwaite and is eager to bring him into the squad.

After having their initial bid rejected, United returned on Monday with an improved offer. According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United’s latest bid is a £45 million fixed fee plus £5 million in add-ons.

Romano wrote on X, “Manchester United have sent a new bid to Everton for Jarred Branthwaite tonight: £45m fixed fee plus £5m add-ons. The proposal is formal and official, as @ChrisWheelerDM has reported. Everton insist on a £65/70m price for Branthwaite, no deal again at this stage.”

Additionally, United are also pursuing Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich.
