Recall that a committee headed by former Minister of Justice, Kanu Agabi, was set up by the Cross River State government to oversee the burial activities, with a budget of N250 million.

However, the committee’s efforts were fruitless, leading to the formation of a volunteer group, “Who is Who in Northern Cross River”, to ensure the return and burial of Wayas’ remains.
