According to Comrade Joe Ajaero, President of the NLC, the unions accepted the offer due to the attached incentives and the president’s pledge to review the wage every three years.

“The president’s pledge to review the minimum wage every three years, as opposed to what we had previously, was a key factor in our decision to accept the offer,” Ajaero said. He added that the unions had accepted the offer because there were other incentives attached, which would benefit Nigerian workers.

The acceptance of the N70,000 minimum wage is a significant development in the ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of Nigerian workers.

With the president’s pledge to review the wage every three years, Nigerian workers can look forward to a brighter future.

“We are pleased to have reached this agreement with the government, and we believe that it will make a significant difference in the lives of Nigerian workers,” Ajaero said.

The NLC and TUC leaders commended President Tinubu for his commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerian workers and pledged to work with the government to ensure the successful implementation of the new minimum wage.
