American singer Taylor Swift has expressed her deep shock and sadness following a stabbing attack at a dance and yoga class in the UK, which was themed around her music.
Merseyside Police confirmed on Tuesday that a 9-year-old girl died from her injuries in a regional hospital the day after the attack. Two other girls, aged 6 and 7, also died on the day of the attack in Southport, northwest England. Five other children and two adults remain in critical condition.
A 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and murder, and a knife was recovered after the incident.

Taylor Swift took to Instagram to express her grief, stating, “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock. The loss of life, the innocence, and the trauma inflicted on everyone involved—the families, first responders—are overwhelming. These were just little kids at a dance class. I’m at a complete loss for how to express my sympathies to these families.”
