The #EndBadGovernance protest is set to continue today, despite President Bola Tinubu’s address to the nation on Sunday. Rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has directed protesters to march on the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, after gathering at Ojota.

Sowore, via his social media handle, instructed protesters to converge on Ojota before proceeding to Alausa, the Lagos State Secretariat, on Monday.

He stated that the protest would resume fully across Nigeria and in several parts of Lagos, including Lekki Toll Gate, Alausa Secretariat, former Lagos Toll Gate, Ketu, LASU Gate, Abule Egba, FESTAC Town, and other centers.

The protesters have been demanding an end to hardship and suffering in the country, and have rejected President Tinubu’s promise that his policies would soon start yielding positive effects. The protest, which began on Thursday, has witnessed violence in some northern states, with security operatives dispersing protesters with tear gas canisters in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and Kaduna.

Sowore described the new minimum wage approved by President Tinubu as “slave wage” and rejected it. He emphasized that the protest would continue until the government meets the demands of the protesters.
