The Nigerian Army Force has confirmed the death of one of the #EndBadGovernance Protesters by its officer.
According to reports, the young protester, identified as Ismail Mohammed was shot during the protest in Zaria, Kaduna State on Tuesday, August 6.

Confirming the incident, the Director, Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement released on August 7, noted that troops were deployed to the location following a distress call that spoke hoodlums had began vandalizing some areas in Samaru, burning tyres and throwing stones at security personnel.
‘’On arrival at the scene, the hoodlums brazenly attempted attacking the troops prompting a soldier to fire a warning shot to scare the hoodlums away, which unfortunately led to the death of a 16 year old boy Ismail Mohammed. The soldier involved has since been arrested and undergoing interrogation as at the time of this report.” he said

He added that the Chief of Army staff who felt bad concerning the incident has sent some delegates to visit and console the family members.
The deceased has been buried according to islamic rites with senior military officers of the Nigerian Army in attendance.
