Federal Government has announced plans to construct the Nigerian Creative City, a one-stop hub for talent development and youth empowerment.

The development was revealed by Hannatu Musawa, Federal Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy (FMACCE), in an interview on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to Musawa, the project was part of initiatives conceived by the new FMACCE to provide a platform to harness creative opportunities across the country for economic gains.

The Nigerian Creative City will serve as a one-stop shop for the 49 subsectors within the creative industry, allowing them to demonstrate their ability to create, create jobs, and boost tourism for increased contribution to national revenue.

According to her, while every state will have a presence of FMACCE, the huge project of the creative city will be located in Abuja, the FCT.

She acknowledged the importance of contributing to the economic expansion of the country, adding that the creative industries have been untapped for a long time.

The minister urged Nigerian youths to shun activities that could destabilize the country and instead embrace opportunities in the creative space.
