Former United States (US) President, Barack Obama has released his 2024 summer playlist, featuring a diverse range of artistes, including two Nigerian musicians -Tems and Rema.
Tems’ “Love Me Jeje” and Rema’s “Yayo” are the only Nigerian tracks on the prestigious playlist, which includes international and domestic artistes.
Obama announced the playlist on his X handle, stating, “With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!”

The playlist showcases Obama’s diverse musical taste, featuring tracks like Charli XCX’s “365,” Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and Billie Eilish’s “CHIHIRO,” alongside classic tracks from 2Pac and Bob Dylan.

In a recent interview, Obama credited his daughters, Sasha and Malia, with helping him stay current with new music, stating, “I get referrals from my daughters — which keeps me not stuck in the ’80s.”
