Gunmen Kidnap Over 20 Medical Students in Benue | Daily Report Nigeria

In a disturbing incident, a group of gunmen has reportedly kidnapped over 20 medical and dental students, as well as a House Officer, in Benue State.

The students, who were from the University of Maiduguri and University of Jos, were on their way to attend the annual convention of the Federation of Catholic Medical and Dental Students (FECAMDS) in Enugu.

According to reports, the students were ambushed by the gunmen around 5:30 pm in the Otukpo area of the state.

It was further revealed that the Benue State Police Command has confirmed the incident and launched an investigation into the abduction.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Catherine Anene said:

“Yes, the report of kidnapping is true. The report was received around 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and an investigation is ongoing.”
