Chinese Firm Releases Detained Nigerian Aircraft for Tinubu's Trip | Daily Report Nigeria

In a surprising turn of events, Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Limited, a Chinese firm, has released one of the three Nigerian aircraft detained in France.

The release was to enable President Bola Tinubu to attend a scheduled meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

A statement by the company on Friday stressed that the release of the Airbus A330 was a goodwill gesture aimed at facilitating Tinubu’s travel plans.

The statement revealed that Nigerian authorities had informed the company of the President’s meeting with Macron and that it would be impossible for him to attend without one of the presidential jets.

Zhongshan also reassured its commitment to acting reasonably and fairly in the ongoing legal dispute with Nigeria, which it claims was not of its making.

Notwithstanding, the company remains resolute in its pursuit of a reasonable compromise with the Nigerian government.

The development comes on the heels of Federal Government’s recent announcement  that it had initiated legal steps to address the interim attachment of the three presidential aircraft in France.
