Controversial Miss South Africa Contestant Chidimma Adetshina Joins Miss Universe Nigeria as Miss Taraba State
Chidimma Adetshina, a former Miss South Africa contestant, has joined the Miss Universe Nigeria competition, representing Taraba State.
Born in Soweto in 2001 to an Igbo father and a Mozambican mother who is a naturalized South African, Chidimma’s involvement in Miss South Africa had sparked debates over her nationality.
After an investigation by the South African Ministry of Home Affairs, she withdrew from the Miss South Africa contest and accepted an invitation to compete in the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. The pageant organizers announced her participation on their official site, introducing her as Miss Taraba State, contestant number 25.
