Media personality Big Vic recently suggested that singer Asake has surpassed rapper and YBNL Nation CEO Olamide in terms of current popularity. On a recent episode of the ‘Ctdamongblacks’ podcast, Vic stated, “Asake is bigger than Olamide right now. I’m not referring to lifetime achievements, but to the current moment. At this point, Mr Money is ahead in terms of collaborations, connections, and sold-out shows.”
Vic also highlighted Olamide’s strategic investment in Mr Money, noting, “Olamide could have chosen not to invest so heavily in Asake, but he knew that if Asake succeeded, he would benefit as well.”
Additionally, Vic commented on the lack of support for emerging artists from the Southeast compared to their Southwest counterparts. He encouraged Igbo artists to follow the example set by Yoruba artists by investing more in rising talents from their region.

For context, Mr Money previously revealed that he spent about two years convincing Olamide to sign him. He officially joined YBNL Nation in February 2022 and released his debut EP, ‘Ololade,’ that same month, which included the hit song “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide and the single “Sungba.”
