This was disclosed in a statement issued by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, on Sunday night.

Although the motive for the trip was not stated, Ngelale assured that the president would return to the country after his brief work stay in France.

In a related development, the president had earlier barred unauthorized government officials from attending the forthcoming United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.
