According to the federal government, transitioning from petrol-powered vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered vehicles will greatly reduce transportation costs.

Transport Minister, Said Alkali made the statement in Abuja on Tuesday, while stressing the impact on the Nigerian economy.

Alkali explained that transportation was a crucial aspect of the economy, and adopting CNG-powered vehicles will bring about a positive change.

The Minister pointed out the benefits of switching to CNG, including resource conservation and solutions to public transportation challenges.

He mentioned that Abuja already has several CNG outlets, and President Bola Tinubu aimed to expand the infrastructure nationwide.
