The passing of renowned jurist, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola was announced on Tuesday August 20, 2024.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that Ayoola was a former chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). He passed away at the age of 90.

2. Educational Background: He obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London and a BA in Jurisprudence from Oxford University.

3. Multiple Judicial Roles: He served as a Judge of the High Court of Western Nigeria, Oyo State, and The Gambia, as well as a Justice of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria and the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

4. International Experience: He was the President of the Court of Appeal of Seychelles and the Appeals Chamber of the Special Court for Sierra Leone.

5. Commitment to Human Rights: He chaired the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria from 2003 to 2005.
