Bandits have released the son of a monarch in Sokoto state following the collection of ransom.

Daily Report Nigeria recalls that the bandits had abducted the District Head of Gobir in Gatawa, Sabon Birni Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa, alongside his son, Kabiru.

A video making rounds showed the moment the monarch was pleading in a disturbing video for the state government’s help. He was reportedly killed on Tuesday, few days after the plea.

 

Confirming the release of Kabiru to Daily Trust on Wednesday,21st of August, Surajo Isa, the elder brother said the bandits collected a total of #60 million and also give motorcycles as ransom.

“They came back from the bandits’ den around 8:30pm,” he said.

He also confirmed the death of their father by the hands of the bandits, adding that he had been buried.

Confirming the recent development, a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Boza said;

“Unfortunately, they have buried the remains of the late emir in the bush. We learnt that the Emir was buried in the morning,”

“The late Emir’s son, Alhaji Kabir Isa is currently receiving treatment at Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) Sokoto. It’s unfortunate that the Emir would not be seenor  again.”
