Nigerian singer Omah Lay has claimed that a fellow artist he once shared his concept for an upcoming album with, took that idea and released an album of his own based on it. Omah Lay explained that he had shared his vision with this artist because they were planning to collaborate, but instead, the artist went ahead and used the concept for their own album.
During an interview on the Zach Sang Show, Omah Lay revealed that this experience forced him to re-record his own album.
“My song ‘Holy Ghost’ has a fresh sound, and initially, I planned to make the entire album with this new style,” he said. “But things changed when I shared the idea with another artist. We were supposed to work together—he’s someone I really admire. I explained the direction I was taking with my music, but five months later, he released an album using exactly the sound I had shared with him.”
