In a daring operation, Nasarawa State Police Command operatives apprehended one Hauwa Sani on Friday for attempting to smuggle 124 rounds of anti-craft ammunition concealed in a gallon of palm oil.
According to reports, the suspect, Sani was also found with a cash sum of N78,500 and a mobile phone.
Ramhan Nansel, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) revealed that the police acted on credible information and intercepted the suspect, along with a 2-year-old child, at Keffi Division.
Nansel added that the suspect was arrested and the ammunition, mobile phone, and cash were recovered as exhibits.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Sani received the ammunition supply at Rafin Sanyi village in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
She then cleverly concealed the items in a gallon of palm oil, intending to smuggle them to Katsina State. However, her plan was foiled by the police, and she was apprehended.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Shehu Nadada, has ordered the transfer of the suspect and exhibits to the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters in Abuja for further investigation.
