Nigeria’s Falconets suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Mexico in their final friendly match before the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The only goal of the game was scored by Alejandro Lomeli for Mexico in the 10th minute.

Last week, the Falconets secured a 2-1 victory over Australia in their first friendly match. Now, under the guidance of Chris Danjuma, the team will focus on their opening World Cup game against South Korea, scheduled for Sunday, September 1, in Bogota.

Nigeria is in a tough group alongside former champions Germany and Venezuela, making their path to the next round challenging.
