“We will not allow ourselves to be used to undemocratically sail some interests to power,” Lagbaja said.

“As the service that received the most image bashing as a fallout of previous military interventions in Nigeria, we are not poised to losing the new prestige we have painstakingly built in the past 25 years, secure, and united.”

Lagbaja noted that the call for military takeover was majorly coming from young Nigerians who never experienced the era of Nigeria’s extensive military rule.

He stressed that the Nigerian Army has built a new prestige over the past 25 years, which they are not willing to lose.

The COAS also highlighted the military’s focus on food security, announcing plans to review their agricultural policy to boost crop production and support the government’s efforts.

Additionally, he mentioned the acquisition of new combat enablers to strengthen operations and security across the country.
