A Nigerian woman, Chinenye Anyanwu, shared a heartbreaking story on Facebook about how her husband allegedly traveled to Lagos shortly after their wedding in 2019 and never returned.
Chinenye explained that she and her husband were married in 2019. Shortly after, she discovered she was pregnant and excitedly shared the news with her husband. However, he did not seem pleased. Just three weeks after their wedding, her husband left for Lagos on what was supposed to be a week-long trip. Shockingly, he never came back.
As time went on, Chinenye uncovered that their marriage was a scam. She realized that the people who attended the wedding on behalf of her husband, including family members and even the photographer and food vendor, were either hired or manipulated into playing roles at the event.

She shared more details of the deceit, noting that all his family members who she had interacted with during their relationship were also part of his scheme. Their contact numbers became unreachable, and it became clear that her husband married her to gain access to her money and assets. He left with everything he could take.
Over time, Chinenye accepted the harsh reality of her situation and took responsibility for her choices. She has spent the last five years trying to rebuild her life, which was profoundly affected by the betrayal—mentally, emotionally, spiritually, financially, and in her career.
Despite her efforts to recover, Chinenye admitted she often feels overwhelmed and broken, especially when she reflects on her struggles and the impact of the deception. She questions why she seems to be paying such a steep price for what she describes as a single mistake—trusting and committing to a man she thought she knew. She expressed her frustration and pain, feeling as though she has been unfairly punished.
Chinenye concluded by addressing her estranged husband directly, stating that she has never cursed him and trusts that the universe will deliver justice. She ended her post with a plea to God, expressing her belief that she has endured enough suffering.
