The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is ready to roll out the sale of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, after a successful test-run of the product.

Industry sources confirmed that the product would hit the market soon, with the government and the Dangote Group working out modalities for circulation.

“We are yet to receive the cargoes, but we thank NUPRC for the allocation,” said Anthony Chiejina, Spokesperson of the Dangote Group. “We are asking for refineries in Nigeria to buy crude directly from local producers, not international middlemen.”

The refinery has battled crude shortage and disagreements with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Regulatory Authority, but the Federal Government’s intervention has helped resolve these issues. Nigerians are hopeful that Dangote will crash the pump price of PMS.
