Ebonyi State Governor Approves N70,000 Minimum Wage for Civil Servants | Daily Report Nigeria

 

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has announced the approval of N70,000 as the new minimum wage for civil servants in the state. The governor made this announcement on Saturday at the grand finale of the Ojiji Izhi New Yam Festival.

According to Nwifuru, the relevant government authorities have been directed to draft out modalities for the payment of the new minimum wage, which will commence in September.

“I have directed relevant government authorities to draft out modalities for the payment of the new minimum wage commencing in September,” he said.

However, the governor expressed disappointment at the slow pace of government projects awarded to prominent leaders of the state, particularly the housing estates at Izo autonomous community in the Ishielu Local Government Area. He gave a marching order to the Commissioner for Housing to ensure the immediate painting of the houses.

The governor also urged residents of the state to report any government projects being delayed by contractors.
