Super Eagles Kick Off Training, Await Star Arrivals for AFCON Clash

The Super Eagles held their first training session on Tuesday night in preparation for Saturday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.

The session, which took place at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, saw the participation of 20 Super Eagles players.

This initial training was open to the media and fans, providing a glimpse into the team’s preparations.

However, the sessions scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday will be conducted behind closed doors to maintain focus and privacy.

Three more players, including Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Maduka Okoye, have yet to join the camp.

Iheanacho is expected to arrive on Wednesday, with Osimhen and Okoye scheduled to link up with their teammates on Thursday.
