“I did promise during the campaigns that in my tenure as Chairman of Western Zone, executive council meetings will not be held in beer parlor and hotels, that we will set a standard to give council a new face in Western Zone.
“Today, that bold statement is now a reality as we now have a well furnished and befitting Annex office that encompasses three office spaces and a conference room.
“Today marks exactly three months in the office of the 9th Zonal Executive Council of the IYC Western Zone, and it represents:
“Three months of unwavering commitment to the issues that confront us as a people.
“Three months of critical stakeholders’ engagement across our Clans in the zone.
“Three months of addressing IOCs, government & other developmental agencies to consider the plight of Ijaw people in their dealings
“Three months of representing, projecting, and propagating Western Zone in a more organized manner, though we are open for criticism and corrections.
“We are grateful to the Sir Godfrey Pondi, the Managing Director (Operations) of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for his immense support that has brought us this far.
“Today is historic, significant and special for us as an executive council but most importantly, for every Ijaw son and daughter of Western zone because they now have a place where they can tender their issues officially and we promise we will be doing justice to whatever issues that are brought before us as long as it is within our alloted capacity,” Igarama added.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lokpobiri poured encomiums on the IYC Western Zone Executives led by Nicholas Igarama for the achievements recorded within three months of coming into office.
Lokpobiri commended Igarama for being a team player who, in 90 days, has turned the fortunes of Council in a positive light, regaining the trust of members in the process.
The President further charged Igarama and his executives to not rest on their laurels as more than they have achieved is expected from them by the Zone.
