World Bank Approves Fresh $700m Loan for Nigeria

The World Bank Internship Program is now accepting applications from highly motivated individuals seeking to gain practical work experience and exposure to the mission and work of the World Bank.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the internship program provides an opportunity for individuals to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas, and research experience into the Bank’s work while improving their skills in a diverse environment.

Two internship programs are currently available: the World Bank Treasury Summer Internship Program and the Legal Internship Program.

The Treasury Summer Internship Program is a junior professional training program designed to develop the skills necessary for an exciting and rewarding career in the financial industry.

It aims to bring exceptional college students with a demonstrated interest in a financial career to support the World Bank’s development mandate.

The Legal Internship Program offers highly motivated law students an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of the World Bank and that of the Legal Vice Presidency.

It allows individuals to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas, and latest research experiences into the World Bank’s daily operations and improve their legal skills while working in a multicultural environment.

To be eligible for a World Bank Internship, candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a master’s degree or PhD with plans to return to school full-time). There is no age limit, and fluency in English is required.

Applicants for the Treasury Summer Internship Program must meet specific requirements, including being enrolled in the second-to-last year of the equivalent of a four-year college degree program with a demonstrated interest in finance, business, economics, or a related field.

Applicants for the Legal Internship Program must hold citizenship of any IBRD member state and be enrolled in an LLB, JD, LLM, SJD, PhD, or equivalent legal academic program while undertaking their internship with the World Bank.

Interns will receive a stipend and may be eligible for a World Bank laptop and visa sponsorship. The internship duration varies depending on the program.

Interested candidates should submit their applications, including a résumé, statement of interest, proof of enrollment, academic transcript(s), and a short essay providing a response to a research question.
