A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos has ordered the remand of Ganiyu Oyedepo, who is more commonly known as Koko Zaria, well-known leader in the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
He has been accused of assaulting veteran Yoruba actor Lawori, with the charges being considered a serious threat to the actor’s life.
According to reports, Lawori took to social media to seek help following the alleged attack by Koko Zaria. In response, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, assured the public via his official X account that justice would be pursued in this case.

On Thursday, August 5, 2024, Chief Magistrate B. Sonuga ordered Koko Zaria’s remand after he was arraigned on multiple charges, including conspiracy, assault causing harm, and conduct likely to disturb public peace.
The prosecutor, Morufu Animashaun, representing the FCIID’s legal department at Alagbon, stated that Oyedepo committed the offenses on June 5, 2024, in Idimu, with the assistance of his associates.
