The announcement was made on Sunday by the NFL, Roc Nation, and Apple Music, revealing that Lamar will take the stage on February 9, 2025, in New Orleans.

In response to the announcement, Lamar stated his goal is to showcase rap’s enduring influence. “Rap music remains the most impactful genre today, and I’m here to remind the world of that,” he said.

Previously, Kendrick Lamar performed during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show as part of a hip-hop ensemble. His solo headline appearance comes amid ongoing public tension with Drake, who has previously mentioned in his songs his own Super Bowl aspirations.
