Ovwian, Delta State – The Champion Youth Week Convention 2024 at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Rainbow Zion Mission, Ovwian, came to a powerful conclusion on Sunday, September 8, after a spiritually charged week that deeply impacted all attendees.

The event, themed “Life in Christ Jesus,” and tagged “Why Am I Born?”spanned from Monday, September 2 to Sunday, September 8, 2024. This annual gathering, focused on youth empowerment and spiritual growth, attracted a large congregation eager to discover their purpose in Christ and experience personal transformation.

The week-long convention was packed with various spiritually enriching activities, ensuring there was something for everyone. Some of the key features of the programme included:

Powerful Word Ministrations

Seasoned ministers delivered deeply insightful sermons that focused on understanding one’s purpose in life through Christ. Messages centred on spiritual growth, self-discovery, and how to live a life fully surrendered to Jesus.

Revival Sessions

Revival services sparked a renewed passion for faith, as attendees participated in intense prayer and worship sessions that sought to restore and ignite their spiritual lives.

Talk Shows and Discussions

The convention offered interactive talk shows where youths and church members had open discussions on real-life challenges, societal issues, and how to maintain a Christ-like approach in their daily lives. These sessions provided a platform for learning and sharing, fostering a strong sense of community.

Drama Performances

Engaging drama performances brought biblical stories to life, emphasizing the theme of the event. These theatrical presentations were a creative way to communicate important spiritual lessons and made a lasting impact on the congregation.

Bible Quiz

A Bible quiz competition saw participants put their scriptural knowledge to the test, encouraging young people to delve deeper into the Word of God and understand its relevance to their lives.

Deliverance and Breakthrough Services

Attendees seeking spiritual freedom and breakthroughs had the opportunity to engage in deliverance sessions. Many testified to experiencing restoration, healing, and renewed hope in areas where they had previously faced challenges.

Testimonies of Restoration and Purpose

Throughout the convention, numerous testimonies were shared, with many participants expressing how the event had transformed their lives. Some shared stories of physical healing, while others spoke of emotional and spiritual breakthroughs.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Youth President, Alore Sobai Joshua (Wisdom Bishop)  emphasized the importance of the convention in nurturing the spiritual lives of young people.

“The youth are the future of the church, and this week has been dedicated to empowering them to know their identity in Christ and to stand firm in their faith. We’ve witnessed tremendous growth in their spiritual lives, and we believe this will have a lasting impact,” Alore said.

Solomon Charles Ikpakpa expressed eagerness for the next convention, saying “the teachings ams exhortations from the convention is so spirit-lifting and I can not wait for the next edition”.

A Spirit-Filled Conclusion

The convention culminated in a powerful final service on Sunday, September 8. The closing ceremony included an anointed ministration, special worship sessions, and thanksgiving, where participants joyfully expressed their gratitude for the blessings they received throughout the week.

The Champion Youth Week Convention 2024 was a resounding success, leaving many inspired, transformed, and motivated to live purposeful lives anchored in Christ Jesus.

The organizers and participants alike are already looking forward to next year’s edition, with high hopes for even greater spiritual encounters.

As the dust settles on this life-changing week, it’s clear that the theme “Life in Christ Jesus” resonated deeply with all who attended, reminding them that understanding their purpose is key to living fulfilling lives in Christ.
