Tinubu Returns to Abuja from China, UK Trips | Daily Report Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu will return to Abuja on Sunday from his official trips to China and the United Kingdom, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has confirmed.

In a statement on Saturday night, Onanuga said Tinubu would return to Abuja after his successful official visit to China, where he met with President Xi Jinping and signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the Chinese government.

The MOUs signed included the Cooperation Plan between Nigeria and China, which aimed to promote the Belt and Road Initiative, cooperate in the peaceful application of nuclear energy, and strengthen cooperation on human resource development under the Global Development Initiative.

Tinubu also visited two Chinese companies, Huawei and China Harbour Engineering Company, before attending the opening of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing.

During his visit to China, Tinubu defended the reforms being implemented by his government in Nigeria and expressed hope that the reforms would lead the country to a destination of good roads, constant power, and good schools, like in China.

After his visit to China, Tinubu departed for London, where he discussed climate financing with King Charles III.

This trip marks Tinubu’s 24th foreign destination since he assumed office about 16 months ago.

The President has visited several countries, including Equatorial Guinea, London, the United Kingdom, Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, Nairobi, Kenya, Porto Norvo, Benin Republic, Pretoria, South Africa, Accra, Ghana, New Delhi, India, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, New York, the United States of America, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Berlin, Germany, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Dakar, Senegal, and Doha, Qatar.
