Nigerian Army Neutralizes Terrorists, Rescues Hostages in Kaduna Operations

The Nigerian Army has reported a series of successful operations in Kaduna State, where troops ambushed and neutralized several terrorists while recovering arms and logistics.

On September 17, 2024, acting on credible intelligence, troops intercepted terrorists attempting to cross from Alawa Forest in Niger State to Birnin Gwari.

The ambush resulted in a fierce firefight, leading to the elimination of two terrorists. Troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, and three motorcycles from the scene.

In a separate operation in Hayin Nakwakina village, intelligence about terrorist movements prompted troops to set another ambush.

This operation neutralized two additional terrorists and restored calm to the village previously affected by violence. Troops recovered two motorcycles, a mobile phone, and machetes left behind by fleeing assailants.

Furthermore, responding to a distress call, troops rescued 20 hostages abducted by terrorists along the Kwaga-Polewire axis of Birnin Gwari.

The rescue operation involved a shootout, which forced the terrorists to retreat, enabling the safe extraction of the hostages, who have since been reunited with their families.

The Nigerian Army expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation in providing vital intelligence and reaffirmed its commitment to combat terrorism and insurgency across the nation.
