The Northeast Zone of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has endorsed Umar Damagum as the party’s acting national chairman, despite the growing crisis within the party.
In a statement released on Thursday, September 19, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri said the PDP chapters in Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe, Borno, and Yobe states are confident in Damagum’s leadership style.
Fintiri commended party members who have stood by Damagum and the current leadership, saying the court’s decision is in the interest of the PDP, its members, and the national democratic process.
