Lagos State Police Command has arrested two women, Ujunwa Una and Chinelo Igbechionwu, for allegedly selling newborn twins.
The shocking incident unfolded when patrol officers from Ojodu Division stationed at Berger bus stop intercepted the suspects, who were traveling from Abia State with the six-day-old baby girls.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin’s post on Friday via X, the command’s spokesperson, the police acted on a tip-off from a concerned citizen.

Hundeyin revealed that investigations revealed that the mother of the babies sold them due to her inability to provide proper care.
The case has been transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command, and the newborns are now in the custody of a motherless baby home for medical evaluation and care.
He added that the police are working to apprehend other conspirators involved in the crime while the arrested suspects were arraigned in court on Thursday.
