The Department of State Services (DSS) has released six individuals arrested during the recent #EndBadGovernance protest in Kaduna State.

The release followed the completion of investigations ordered by DSS Director-General Adeola Ajayi.

However, three other protesters are set to be arraigned in court.

The protests, which lasted for ten days, called for a reduction in governance costs, reinstatement of the petrol subsidy, improved food security, and enhanced fiscal discipline. While many demonstrations were peaceful, some turned violent, resulting in looting and vandalism across various states.

Authorities announced the arrest of alleged perpetrators, securing a court order to detain 124 individuals in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for 60 days pending further investigations.

Of those, ten have already pleaded in a federal high court in Abuja and were granted bail set at N1 million each.

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana reported that security agents arrested a total of 2,111 protesters during the nationwide demonstrations.
