The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, has confirmed that his phone line has been hacked, prompting a public warning to avoid communication through the compromised number.
In a post on his official X account, Mamman stated, “My phone line has been compromised. Please refrain from calling the number and ignore any messages requesting assistance until the issue is resolved. Thank you for your understanding.”
The Ministry of Education has also issued a statement confirming the breach.
According to the Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, “The Office of the Honourable Minister of Education wishes to inform the general public that the Minister’s WhatsApp number has been hacked and is currently being used by unauthorized individuals.”

Officials expressed regret over the incident and emphasized the importance of public vigilance, urging individuals to disregard any messages originating from the hacked number.

“We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause and urge everyone to disregard any messages of request received from the said number until further notice. The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities and is under investigation,” Folasade added.
Members of the public are advised to report any suspicious activity related to the hacking incident as investigations continue.
