The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, has confirmed that there have been no reports of protests in the state as part of the ongoing #FearlessInOctober movement.

During a briefing on Tuesday, Alamutu emphasized the calm atmosphere, stating, “There have been no reports of protest across the state; there is palpable calm everywhere.”

Alamutu attributed the peaceful environment to recent discussions with community stakeholders aimed at discouraging potential protests. He noted, “We had an engagement with critical stakeholders where we dissuaded people from embarking on any protest, and it seems that heart-to-heart talks we had are producing results.”

Similarly, David Ojelabi, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ogun, echoed this sentiment, stating, “So far, no reports of protest in the state, and everywhere is peaceful. This means that the meeting we had with the stakeholders is bearing fruit.”

A significant presence of security personnel, including soldiers and police, was noted at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, a designated protest venue. However, no protesters were observed by 11 AM on Tuesday.

On Monday, a State High Court in Abeokuta had limited protest activities to specific locations in the state, including MKO Abiola Stadium and Gateway International Stadium in Sagamu.
