All Progressive s Congress (APC) has strongly criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for its response to President Bola Tinubu’s recent Independence Day speech, describing the opposition as a “shameful party” seeking relevance.
In a statement released by the APC’s Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim, the ruling party rebuffed PDP’s claims that Tinubu’s speech showcased insensitivity to the struggles of Nigerians, particularly regarding pressing economic and security issues.
The PDP had labeled the speech as a “complete waste of time,” arguing that it failed to address the hardships faced by millions, including economic distress and unemployment.
Ibrahim countered, stating, “Rather than burying their heads in shame, the PDP claims the President’s speech is empty. What they fail to recognize is that since their exit from power, Nigeria has seen a return to sanity and peace.

The APC emphasized that the current government has made significant strides in improving security and governance, contrasting this with the perceived chaos during the PDP’s tenure.
“Under an APC-led federal government, Nigerians are experiencing peace of mind,” Ibrahim stated, asserting that the opposition’s critiques stem from jealousy over the ruling party’s achievements.
