Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has shared his thoughts on the team’s 2-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka in the first half secured the win for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking to Amazon Prime after the match, Enrique expressed his disappointment, stating he felt “sad” and acknowledged that his players struggled to compete, particularly in one-on-one duels.

He remarked, “My feeling is that I am sad. We could not compete at the level that they did, and they deserved to win the match. They scored two goals and then defended resolutely, which earned them the victory.”
Luis Enrique praised Arsenal’s intensity and quality, saying, “I know the intensity of their team, how they play on the ball and off the ball, and that they are at a very high level. There’s no doubt that they are a top team. We knew the standards they have.”
Regarding the second goal conceded from a free kick, Luis Enrique noted, “That happens in football. We have to accept that we were losing almost every single duel against a team like Arsenal, which is so aggressive in their pressure. If you don’t win the duels, you suffer. Now we have to regroup and think about the next match.”
