Rivers Electoral Commission Confers Certificates of Return on New LG Chairmen | Daily Report Nigeria

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has officially issued certificates of return to newly elected local government chairmen following a contentious election held on Saturday.

The Action People’s Party (APP) emerged victorious, clinching 22 out of the 23 chairmanship positions, while the Action Alliance (AA) secured one seat.

During the presentation at the RSIEC headquarters in Port Harcourt, Chairman Adolphus Enebeli emphasized the importance of the election results for local governance. “These certificates mark the beginning of your responsibilities towards the people you represent,” Enebeli stated.

With the certificates now in hand, the chairmen are expected to be sworn in by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, officially commencing their three-year tenure. The list of new chairmen includes:
