Man Bags 8 Years Imprisonment For #62 Million Land Fraud

  • A man has bagged jail terms after being found guilty fraud, and other crimes.

  • The defendant, Abozo was handed a total of eight years in prison for his crimes.

A man has been handed an eighth years prison term for fraud and stealing in Ikeja.

It was gathered that the suspect had collected the sum of #62 million with the aim of selling a apiece of land to the foreign man, but he failed, and also didn’t refund the money.

According to reports, the defendant, Gereld Abozo was paraded before Justice I.O. Ijelu of the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja on October 2, 2024.

Abozo, who was charge for a two count: obtaining money under false pretense and st£aling.

Part of the counts read that Abozo, who operated under the name – S.G.B. & A Property Lines Company, and convinced Engineer Samuel Segher in 2013 into paying N62 million for two plots of land in Chevy Estate, claiming to sell them when he had no intention of doing so.

The second charge claimed that he unlawfully used the same amount belonging to Segher.

Abozo however pleaded not guilty to the allegations, but was quickly blocked as the prosecuting counsel, M.S Owede presented two witnesses and various documents, which were accepted by the court.
