A handful of people have been confirmed dead, others seriously injured as soldiers and gunmen clash in imo community.

The clash was reported to have happened at Aba branch area, in the late hours of October 8, 2024.
A lot of people have fled their homes, following a clas between men of the Nigerian Army, and some unknown gunmen.
The gun duel was reported to have happened in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State in the Aba branch area.

According to further reports from The Nations, an eyewitness, who confirmed the incident said the soldiers were attacked in their base, which led to the death of several soldiers.
The witness also added that it only took minutes before the entire place turned into a battleground.
“Some non-state actors attacked and killed some soldiers in the area yesterday,” one source explained. “The whole place is on fire, and troops have taken over nearby communities”

DRN gathers that many families have fled their homes out of fear, and are currently scared to come back.
A resident, who pleaded anonymity said;
“We are terrified, The sound of gunfire is still echoing in our ears. We don’t know what will happen next.We are worried, Ehime used to be a serene environment, we dont know what is happening.”
There has been no official statement yet from either the police or military authorities, as of press time
