  • A gang of bandits have once again struck some communities in Katsina, claiming lives, destroying properties amongst other criminal activities.

  • The gunmen were said to have killed no less than 19 people in their recent attack,

A gang of unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have invaded and caused mayhem on various communities in Katsina State.

According to reports from Daily Trust, the bandits killed no less than 19 people, kidnapping and injuring many.

On of the attacks was at Ammarawa village, which the bandits invaded in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

Also, another batch of bandits attacked Dan Gani village, killing one person and abducting seven others.

 

It was also gathered that on the same day, gunmen kidnapped a woman from Tudu village, around 9am

In Tudu village, a woman named Saude was kidnapped around 9 a.m. on the same day.

Earlier, on Monday, four people were killed and others injured during an attack on Kukasheka village, also in Kankara LGA.

Residents have began fleeing their homes, while some who have nowhere else to go have began to plead with the government for assistance.

 

A resident, who shared his experience noted that the consistent attacks of the bandits have made it impossible to plant and harvest crops.

He also added that his father was attacked just two days ago on the family farm, this comes just after his brother had been k!lled by the same group.

He said his father, who sustained a severe head injury, d!ed nine days later in the hospital.
