Again, Bandits Attack Benue Community, Kill Many | Daily Report Nigeria

A group of armed men suspected to bandits have attacked a community in Benue, causing havoc in the process.

A new attack has sent shivers down the spine of residents, after gunmen suspected to be herdsmen invade Anyiin community in Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that many people have been reported dead, while other sustain varying degrees of injuries during the attack in the town around 6:32 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

 

Confirming the incident, a community leader, Joseph Anawah said the incident which reported happened on Thursday, October 31 saw a group of bandits numbering over 20 and heavily armed, carry out an operation that lasted three hours.

 

“Terrorists yesterday, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, unleashed terror on Anyiin town, Logo LGA of Benue State, in an operation that started around 6:32 pm, leaving over 15 people dead, some with injuries, and others missing,” he said.

Also recounting, he noted that along those that were killed in the attack are a retired primary school supervisor, Orihundu Ati, and the son of the Kindred Head of Mbawuave, Zaki Mbatern.

He also added that the son of the former Chief of Staff to the former Logo local government chairman, Tordoo Suswam, and the son of Mr Uyange Chembe, the younger brother of the late District Head of Ukemberagya, Zaki John Chembe were killed.

Anawah also called on the government for help, adding that that is the second attack in October.
