Fire Guts 3 Radio Stations In Abia

Fire Guts 3 Radio Stations In Abia | Daily Report Nigeria

  • A tragic incident has unfolded in Abia state, following the destruction of three radio stations.

  • The radio stations were reported to have gone up in flames, causing destruction to many properties.

Residents scamper for safety, as three radio stations go up in flames in Abia state.

Daily Report Nigeria gathers that the three radio stations, Enyimba 94.3 FM, Rose 101.9 FM, and Legend 98.3 FM, all share the same complex, which intensified the fire.

The incident was reported to have happened on Saturday night at Margret Avenue along the PZ axis of Aba-Owerri Road in Aba North Local Government Area of Abia state.

The Abia state fire department were called, which they wunh into action to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings.

However, reports indicate that all broadcasting equipments in the stations were destroyed, leaving the stations temporarily out of service. Thankfully, no lives were lost.

Speaking on the incident, the parent company of the radio companies, Eyimba TV and Radio Limited noted that more investigations are ongoing to get the cause of the fire, although, a staff member confirmed the blaze alleging it started in the television section of the mother station before spreading to the sister radio stations.

 

The management also announced a temporary closedown of the establishments, until all precautionary measures to avoid same occurrence are taken.
