  • A handful of people have lost their lives, following a ghastly road accident in Yobe state.

  • Daily Report Nigeria gathers that at least 12 people were recorded to have died in the auto crash.

A ghastly auto crash has claimed the lives of no less that 12 people, along the Baimari–Geidam Road in Yobe state.

Confirming the incident, the FRSC State Commander, Livinus Yilzoom said the accident happened around 10:00pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

He further explained that the accident occurred after a truck, ran into a bus near Chelluri village, adding that 12 passengers were burnt to death immediately.

He said;

“Preliminary investigation revealed road obstruction by the HOWO truck as the immediate cause, while excessive speed and overload by the driver of the bus (Sharan), as the remote causes of the road crash,”

Yilzoom also enjoined motorists to avoid over speeding, adding that the harmattan weather might cause poor visibility while on the road.
